These sculptures are meant to represent the ephemerality of growth and change during life, as each of the plants grows the vessels they are contained in will begin to decompose until they are not be able to hold the dirt and plants as they are able to now. These sculptures were inspired by Eva Hesse's sculptures and particularly her installation Repetition Nineteen III, which is a series of fiberglass sculptures.
